In-Home Dog
Training
MISSION:

Helping you and your dog build a calm, confident, connected relationship.
I use positive reinforcement dog training, attachment-based communication, and environment-based behavior support. My training is gentle, science-backed, and stress-reducing for both you and your pup.
I offer private, in-home dog training for families in Jacksonville, Riverside, Avondale, Ortega, Murray Hill, and nearby neighborhoods.
Who I Work With...
-
First-time dog parents (paw-rents)
-
Recently adopted rescue doggos of any age
-
Dogs that struggle with anxiety, unwanted behavioral challenges like aggression, or are otherwise “difficult to train”
-
Puppers of any age, breed, and size, regardless of how long ago you brought them home

-
Pet parents in Jacksonville (Riverside, Avondale, and surrounding areas) as well as remote/virtual sessions.
You'll learn how to...
-
Stay emotionally regulated and confident while walking your dog.
-
Read your dog’s cues to prevent jumping, pulling, reactivity, and over-excitement.
-
Introduce your pup to new people, dogs, and environments safely and comfortably.
-
Create a calm home environment when you’re away or during downtime.
-
Build consistency without perfection (mistakes are normal — I teach you how to recover and reset kindly).

This is training for both ends of the leash: your dog’s behavior and your communication patterns.
Approach
I use positive reinforcement dog training only.
This means:
-
We reward and reinforce the behaviors you want more of.
-
We do not use e-collars, prong collars, bark collars, or intimidation tactics.
-
We build trust, confidence, and safety, not fear or submission.

Positive reinforcement isn’t a trend — it’s backed by over a century of behavioral science (yes — think Pavlov’s dogs, but kinder and more evolved).

I don’t call myself “a dog trainer” in the traditional sense.
I work as a dog and human educator, helping both of you understand each other more deeply.
There are only a handful of professionals in Florida using this strictly positive and holistic method — and I am the only one offering it in-home and relationship-focused in Jacksonville.
How I'm Different
-
Positive-only training that works long-term.
I help you build behaviors that last, without causing stress or fear.

-
Specialty in large dogs, bully breeds, anxious pups, and reactive behavior.
I help “harder-to-train” pups become easier, calmer, and safer companions.

-
Holistic, whole-family support.
We look at your routines, environment, energy, nervous system regulation, and emotional communication.
Everyone in the household learns the same simple strategies — so progress sticks.

-
Ethical and transparent.
If I’m not the best fit, I’ll tell you and connect you with someone who is. You will never be upsold or pressured.

-
Deep experience on both sides of the leash.
10,000+ hours of 1:1 dog behavior work + 20 years in psychology, attachment, and communication sciences.

The result?
A relationship you love with your dog — one that feels safe, connected, and joyful.

You + your pup = BFF energy.
MY STORY

I became a dog trainer because I needed the kind of support I now offer to others.

In February 2022, I adopted my rescue dog, Kane, from a shelter in Jacksonville, Florida. He had survived extreme neglect and arrived severely underweight, unsure of the world, and unsure of himself. I had never owned a dog before, and as I searched for help, I realized how confusing and conflicting the world of dog training was.

I received a lot of advice rooted in punishment-based or dominance-focused training, and none of it felt right for Kane. Like many rescue dogs, he needed safety, patience, and the chance to build trust. So I started studying modern positive reinforcement dog training, canine behavior, and relationship-based learning. I worked with trainers, behaviorists, veterinarians, and other specialists to help Kane grow into a confident, joyful dog.
Friends and family often tell me I did more for Kane than the average dog owner. My dad jokingly says that when his time comes, he hopes to come back as my dog because of the love, support, and adventure Kane received.

Kane passed in January 2024, and the grief of losing him deepened my purpose. I realized how many dog guardians—especially those with rescue dogs, reactive dogs, or dogs with trauma—feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or ashamed when traditional training methods don’t work.

So now, I help dog guardians learn force-free, fear-free training techniques that build confidence, trust, and connection. I support dogs and their people through:

-
Positive reinforcement training
-
Behavior modification for reactive or anxious dogs
-
Relationship-based communication and enrichment
I believe every dog deserves to feel safe in the world, and that starts with how we show up for them.
If my story resonates with you, I’d love to learn about you and your dog, and how we can help them feel secure, seen, and supported.

I serve clients in Jacksonville, Riverside, Avondale, and surrounding areas, as well as remote/virtual sessions.
